Joe Galindo was born in Mirfield, West Yorkshire in 1994. Possessing a natural knack for drawing, he honed his skills at a young age and eventually, after completing university and holding various 9-5 positions, he decided to showcase his talent. With a focus on creating portraits of pets, footballers, and musicians, as well as accepting commissions through social media to support his work, he eventually debuted his striking abstract landscapes in galleries.
At 24 years old, he decided it was time for a change. He left his hometown of his own accord and headed to Vietnam, leaving behind his art supplies. From there, he traveled extensively throughout Asia until he eventually landed in Australia. It was in Australia that he picked up his brushes once again and began selling his work in Melbourne and Sydney. Throughout his travels, Galindo constantly sought out unique and captivating art from other artists as well as drawing inspiration from the nature around him - the lush jungles, beautiful coastlines, and diverse wildlife. Taking one final trip to Sri Lanka before heading home in 2022, Galindo reconnected with the Asian lifestyle one last time before returning to reignite his passion for creating and pursuing his purpose in life.
Galindo's distinctive style lies in his innovative approach to painting. Through the use of various techniques and mediums, he creates depth and contrast in his pieces. Vibrant contemporary colors are blended with abstract depictions of wild animals, resulting in a dynamic and energetic aesthetic. Each artwork is a unique and captivating blend that invites individual interpretation. Galindo pours his own emotions and sentiments into each animal's face, establishing a personal connection with the viewer. In order to achieve this, he employs unconventional tools such as spoons, nails, and bits of rubber. Furthermore, the spontaneity of his paint application - propelled by flicking his wrist or swooshing his arm - ensures that every piece is one-of-a-kind.
